Peter Barnes

Peter joined BDP in 2014 as a mechanical engineer, and has extensive knowledge of all aspects of building services. Peter is experienced in both design and site based client advisory roles having spent most of his career in the laboratory sector. He has been involved in a number of large scale laboratory projects, successfully completing mechanical services designs from concept to completion and overseeing commissioning and validation of mechanical and BMS Systems on site. 

Prior to joining BDP, Peter spent 6 years at Jacobs UK, where he worked predominately in the research/laboratory sectors; projects included a new Laboratory of Molecular Biology for the Medical Research Council, Cambridge, and the Institute of Cancer Research, Imaging Centre and Research Laboratory, the second phase of a Laboratory Building. Peter also spent 2 years at Zisman Bowyer & Partners, where he worked on the CR-UK, Cambridge Research Laboratory and Peterborough Hospital PFI. 

Peter has been involved with the design of the new AstraZeneca facility in Cambridge since the concept stage. He currently has overall responsibility for delivering the engineering services design for AstraZeneca’s new R&D building in Cambridge, which involves the relocation of AstraZeneca’s Research Centre from Alderley Park (near Manchester) to the new Cambridge Bio-Medical Campus site adjacent to Adenbrookes Hospital.”
