Daniel L. Doyle, P.E., LEED AP O+M, is the Chairman of Grumman/Butkus Associates, a firm of energy efficiency consultants and sustainable design engineers in metropolitan Chicago. He held the position of President of G/BA’s Evanston, IL, office from 2000 to the end of 2013, when he became Chairman. In this role, he is responsible for the firm’s marketing and recruiting. He is also the principal-in-charge for numerous designs and studies. For the past 30 years, Dan’s career has focused on energy conservation and efficiency improvements in new and existing buildings, especially energy-intensive and mission critical facilities, such as laboratories, hospitals, data centers and specialized manufacturing facilities. A frequent public speaker, he has received multiple awards from organizations such as the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the U.S. Department of Energy for energy conservation retrofits in existing buildings and green building design. He is active in multiple professional associations and is a current member of the Board of Directors for the International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL). In addition to multiple presentations for the Laboratory Design Conference, Dan has presented at CleanMed, ASHRAE, HESNI annual conference (Healthcare Engineers Society of Northern Illinois), I2SL National Conference, the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore, the Big 10 + Friends Mechanical Conference, among other events.
